My company is thinking about an Open Source / Linux solution. What are the advantages? |

Here
at New IT, we are fluent in both MS Windows and Linux. Our team often
recommends Linux because it's open source software, meaning the
programming code is freely available, constantly evolving and being
improved upon by other developers.
Linux
operating system software is much more secure and stable than
Microsoft's and is virtually virus proof and spyware proof. And Linux
software is either free or very cost effective compared to
proprietary software. Now that Linux / Open Source has been around
for about a decade, it has matured to the point where maintenance
requirements are minimal. So it saves you money when you acquire it
and it saves you money in repairs and upkeep down the road. This
isn't a commercial for Linux... just our frank observations!
